HUC 4: Brackets

BRACKET A

23Skidoo-ADVANCES
vs.
Gracie
With final table appearances in two PokerStars Katrina Relief tournaments and numerous Wheaties, a second place finish in the 2005 WPBT Winter Classic in Las Vegas and a first place win in a WPBT online event that sent her to the 2006 World Series of Poker, Gracie clearly knows how to manage luck when it comes her way. Get lucky with Gracie in HUC4!

Veneno
vs.
NewinNov-ADVANCES
I'm losing my bankroll too slowly so I thought how can I lose it even more slowly? Low limit HU challenge, perfect. Just a small time low limit player who enjoys reading poker blogs about how others are kicking junk regularly while I just obtain sporadic results.

Zeem
vs.
Matty Ebs-ADVANCES
MattyEbs plays poker along his travels across the continental US in coffee shops and airports. He is giving a go at stand up comedy and while real life occupations have conquered him, he plans to take his Renaissance lifestyle to the felt...He may tilt but he'll bring you down with him. He plays both up and down to his opponent's strengths and weakness and no matter who he's playing whether an 8 year old crackhead from the streets or an astrophysicist at NASA it should be a close match. His biggest flaw is his inability to shit talk but this may be his very opportunity to obtain that missing element in his game. Luck is how people explain the successes of their enemies and I am luckier then most.

Garthmeister
vs.
Surflexus- ADVANCES

BRACKET B

Doubleas
Doubleas hates the game and he looks to put bad beats on others in order to get them to hate the game too. Be careful and don't get your money in good against him or you'll lose to a suckout and then hate the game for the rest of your life as well. However, you can get your money in bad and suckout on him. It'll get him to throw his chair into a wall and you can laugh your ass off for a week.
vs.
Mr. Goss
Weighing in at a svelte 235 packing a back-woods attitude from deep East Texas and a meth-addict's style addiction to the action that shows up on the felt, MG was first exposed to the Blogger's world by accidentally stumbling across the sage-like words of HDouble and then moved on to Iggy and others. With a degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University, it was easy to fall into line with the probability side of poker. With several years of high school and college sports under his belt, it was even easier to obtain the warrior-like mentality needed to endure the endless beatings, as well as the all-encompassing victories that poker has to offer. "All the tigers have been tamed," says MrGoss. "So we are left with this battle that is never-ending. It is that which is beautiful and that which is deadly all at the same time." So, it is with great pride that he offers up his $25 to take a shot at making a mark for himself in Blogger-dome.

Fuel55- ADVANCES

Bone Daddy

WilWonka- ADVANCES

HighOnPoker
HighOnPoker is the brainchild of Heads-Up poker bot H-10-N. H-10-N likes algorithm, playing ABC poker and hanging out at the local discoteque. When he is not playing 26 tables at once online, he lies dormant on a hard drive. Many people have claimed that HighOnPoker is actually a 27 year old lawyer in New York City, but those few have been fooled by the H-10-N's advanced artificial intelligence programming. Eventually, H-10-N hopes to retire from online poker, and live out the rest of his days surfing the Internet and leaving deep impressions on whatever floppy discs he can get in his slot.

HUC 4: Preview

Oh, it's time, ladies and gentlemen, for a battle of wits and determination. A spectacle like none before it (except for HUC and HUC2 and thanks to WillWonka's reminder, the HUC3). The Greatest Show on Earth (after Barnum & Bailey's Circus). The face that launched a thousand ships (which is complete rip off of Cleopatra and really makes no sense here).

Heads Up Challenge...4!

I am now taking submissions for entries into the HUC4. To apply, please send an email to highonpokr AT yahoo DOT compadre, and don't forget to leave off the last E in highonpokr for +EV! Please include your Full Tilt screenname, your blog address (if you have one), your location (and time zone if it is not obvious...I'm looking at you mid-westerners), your Yahoo IM name (if you have it), and your email address. Entry will cost $25, which will be used entirely for the prize pool, and must be paid via Full Tilt or PokerStars. Payment should only be made after I have approved your entry.

Initially, the tournament will consist of 16 players. However, depending upon interest, the tournament will expand to 24 or 32 players. If it is expanded to 24, three brackets will be used and the three bracket winners will participate in a round-robin final. Each round will consist of a minimum of 3 matches, all on Full Tilt costing $5.50, unless the individual competitors decide otherwise. Each match must be No Limit Hold'em. This cannot be changed.

Once brackets are made, individual match-ups will be able to determine the time and date of their matches, although there will be a general time/date limit to ensure no undue delays. Players will be encouraged to announce their scheduled match-ups in advance.

The prize money will be determined after completion of the brackets, but at least three spots will pay.

The tournament will hopefully be ready to start following DADI X, on November 16, 2006.

Current participants include: Jordan from HighOnPoker, Veneno, DoubleAs, WillWonka, 23Skiddoo, Fuel55, PokerPeaker, Katitude, Matty Ebs, Butch, Gracie, Surflexus, Mr. Goss, NewinNov, Garthmeister, and Zeem Jr.

Alternates include: the HighPlainsDrifter, and Mr. Pink. If we can get eight alternates, a third bracket will be made.

That is all for now. Until next time, make mine poker!
